Abstract

The practicum was conducted at the Quality Assurance Department of Dole Philippines, Inc. at Polomolok, South Cotabato from April 15 to May 14, 2013 for a total of 152 hrs. During the course of the training, the student was given two projects which were reduction of percent coating and patching on Dole Banana Dipper and flange contaminants on Plastic Cups and flexible Pouches. These projects allowed the student to make observations on different chemical and physical analyses of raw food materials and finished products, inspected packaging materials and labels and conducted documentations related to the Quality Assurance Department of the company. The student gained competence and became exposed to the different technical practices and developments in the food industry. The student also developed supervisory skills and improved intrapersonal skills, self-confidence abd proper work attitudes through social interactions with supervisors, superintendents and co-workers in the company. Suggested solutions to the problems encountered in the plant practice and project study were also encourage to be raised.
