Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at BSFIL Technologies Incorporated at Barangay Dayap, Calauan, Laguna from May to June 2012. BSFIL Technologies Incorporated is a cost effective manufacturer and supplier of quality food ingredients and seasonings in the Philippines. Practicum wasspent in the Research and Development Department of the manufacturing company. Comparative evaluations based on the sensory and physical properties of various raw materials and blended products traded by the companywere done during the practice. Request form completion for blended products which is madeby batching,encoding formulations of blended products, and conducting sensory evaluations for new products were done during the practice. Recommendationswere presented for further improvement of the department.During the plant practice, pertinent skills and knowledgeon product development were acquired especially in food processing operations and technical aspects of product research. In addition, familiarity and understanding ofworking in an industrial scale were also acquired.
