Abstract

The trainee allotted her 150 hour on-the-job training at the Quality Control, and pack market. The practicum enabled the student to be exposedure to various activities and responsibilities of a QC specialist which includevolves several physico-chemical analysis a, asnd well as microbiological analysis , of fat and oil products, receiving and inspection of packaging and raw materials, filing of important papers such as reports of raw materials and daily inspection report,, orders and other records, documentation of certificate of analysis, and experiencing some tasks in the production line. The trainee learned professionalism, handling unexpected situations and working harmoniously with the other personnel. She also experienced unexpected circumstance, for instance, when her analysis was inconsistent while she managed to handle the situation. She also gained awareness of how significant, at the same time crucial, is the role of quality control specialist in achieving the best quality of the products. At the end of the practicum, the theoretical knowledge learned from the institution was not just applied in the real industry of food processing but the trainee was able to acquire working skills and attitude, and gained real life experiences from the actual food industry.
