Abstract

The major farm practice was conducted from April 13 to May 18, 2010 in Acrotech Farms, Incorporated, Brgy. Mabacan, Calauan, Laguna and in Peñaloza Farm, Brgy. Curva, Calauan, Laguna. Both are contract swine farms of Monterey Foods Corporation. Most of the time was spent in Acrotech Farm since most of the management practices in a swine farm are done in the breeding, gestating, and farrowing section. The farm practice aimed to apply the theoretical knowledge obtained from the university and to gain hands-on experience in an actual swine farm operation. Technical analysis was done to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the farm for the student to formulate possible recommendations for the further improvement of the farm.
