Abstract

Marinduque is an island situated south of Tayabas BAy and north of Sibuyan Sea. Marinduque is having problems with its system's reliability experiencing frequent power interruptions and high cost of electricity. To offer a solution to this problem, an electrical design of a photovoltaic power plant was made. The necessary data of Marinduque's electrical system was gathered such as its current demand, forecasted demand, forecasted demand, existing plant's information, etc. The calculated plant capacity is would be 2MW plant. After the plant's capacity has been decided, has been decided, the criteria for site selection were made and possible sites were evaluated using multi-attribute decision analysis. The site in Lipata, Buenavista garnered the highest score in the analysis. After the site has been determined, the specifications of plant 's main components was then determined. 7650 modules are needed, arranged in 17 arrays with two inverters and two step-up transformers. The plant's area was also determined to be 2 hectares. The project cost was estimated and a total of 175 470 379.30 Php was the final estimate. After the total project cost has been estimated, load flow analysis has been done. Different tapping points were simulated, those are, at Mahunig, Gasan recloser, at Lipata Buenavista feeder 2's side and also at Lipat, Buenavista but at feeder l's side. It has been found that the plant would be best tapped at Lipata Buenavista, feeder i's side.
