Abstract
The major farm practice was conducted at the Malikbet Dairy Farm, Brgy. Maravilla , Nagcarlan, Laguna from April 29 to May 21, 2011. Malikbet Dairy farm has 71 head of dairy cattle with 20 cows in the milking line. The student was tasked to perform actual management practices such as milking, cleaning of pens, injection of vitamins, drying off through infusing of antibiotics, disbudding, ear notching, spraying of acaricide, feeding and record keeping. The student was also able to observe other dairy farm operations such as artificial insemination, rectal palpation and forage cutting. The farm was described and technical analysis was done to evaluate the farm practices and management. The Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) of the farm was also analyzed. The problems encountered including the lessons learned by the student is presented in the farm practice report. The student was also able to give recommendations to the farm.
