Abstract

The tenant revisions offered by the project-SoleMare ParkSuites-gave way for innovations both within the project team and its functions and also for the prospective tenants. However, this innovation presented consequences that the project teams were not able to anticipate. The teams had difficulty in processing the tenant revisions due to the delay in the validation and costing process. Several details were considered in this process and these include the: (1) Unit Configuration, (2) Unit Type, and (3) Set of Deliverables or Revisions. All of these go through the validation of the project architect and then the approval would be communicated to the other project teams through the project management team. However, when several tenants chose to have the unit delivered with revisions, the quantifications of materials became quite complicated, Thus, there came a need for an automated quantification of materials. The program was developed based on the same considerations as the validation and costing process. Additionally, the program utilized the use of relational database to relieve the user from the difficulty of computing for the queries commonly encountered when quantifying the material within a floor and tower.
