Abstract

BZ-2 SIG GEN is an RF signal generator device used at REMEC Broadband Wireless International Incorporated for testing ODU frequency converters. It is operated using A Lab VIEW Virtual Instrument. The SIG GEN runs in different modes such as Continuous Wave (CW), Sweep, Converter ATE CW, Converter ATE Sweep and Converter AT two-tone. The sig gen software formulates the command from user input or activity in the Graphical User Interface which will be sent to the Microcontroller unit. command data transmission will come from USB port, then, the USB signal will be converted to RS 232 signal before terminating at the MCU. The MCU will process the data given and will send command data to the RF module controlled to output a signal. Transmission of correct signal id verified through sending a response back to host PC.
