Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the feasibility of establishing a three-hectare Aromatic Green Dwarf coconut plantation integrated with coco sugar processing plant in Magdalena, Laguna. Specifically, it aimed to present the coconut plantation integrated with coco sugar processing plant and its planned area of operation; determine the market, production, organizational and financial viability of operating the plantation in Pagsanjan, Laguna; identify possible risks and potential problems to the implementation of the project; and recommend specific courses of action based on the findings of the study. The study was generally found to be a feasible investment option. A total of P8,854, 381.20 is needed as the initial investment which will be sourced from the owner’s equity. Financial projections showed that the payback is expected at 1.17 years with an NPV value of P 37,019,603 and an IRR of 85.60%. There are many potentials problems and risks that may be encountered in the four functions of business such as stiff competition in the future, the inadequate awareness of the consumers in the health benefits of coco sugar, the increasing production costs and many others. However, these problems can be managed by means of intensive promotions, increasing product’s price, product development and many other strategies.
