Abstract
Commissioning is a procedure or sets of processes conducted to ensure the integrity of a system for energization and, eventually, for operation. Each stage, both commissioning and energization, involves various testing to verify the correct implementation of each and every aspect of the procedure. This study documents the commissioning and energization procedure implemented to Biñan-Sucat Line 4 project at Biñan Substation. In detail, it discussed the components and ratings of the components of the projects, perquisite to commissioning , and the commissioning and energizaton procedure, as well as the tests performed to verify the correctness of each procedure. More importantly, the study evaluated the effects of the project on the entire Biñan-Sucat transmission network and the generation sector. Data showed no significant increase of energy transmitted upon completion of the project However, positive results were observed on the increase in transfer capacity and reliability of the Biñan-Sucat network. This will allow a greater maximum dispatch for the Southern Luzon generation plants and, consequently, an economical benefit for the consumers.
