Abstract
This study investigated the flexural strength of crystalline sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) blended concrete with type A chemical admixture more commonly known as water reducing admixture (WRA). Four batches of concrete specimens with the following mix: Batch A which served as control specimens ()% SCBA w/o WRA), Batch B (0% SCBA w/ WRA), Batch C (10% SCBA w/WRA), and Batch D (10% w/ WRA0 all underwent a curing period of 28 prepared and were subjected to center-point loading test. It was found out that the addition of a WRA and 10% partial cement replacement of SCBA In a concrete mix will have no significant difference on the concrete's flexural strength. This may be largely attributed to the presence of unburned carbon in an SCBA concrete and low pozzolanic activity of SCBA at only 28 days curing period.
