Abstract

The study considered nine tigers (Panthera tigris), six adults, three juveniles four females and five males, from the Manila Zoo. Among the nine tigers tested, three were found to have serologic evidence of exposure to T. gondii. Two of these, both females, had a positive titer of 1:32 and the other was a male with a medium positive titer of 1:64. Furthermore, these seropositive tigers were found to have elevated PCV, leukocytosis and neutrophilia. All the seropositive animals were adults. The juveniles were found to be negative for T. gondii antibodies.
