Abstract

The effect of the methanolic extract of Ehretia microphylla Lam. (Tsaang Gubat) leaves to Jatropha curcas L. methyl ester was determined using the Rancimat method. The methanolic extract was examine for the effect of soaking time on its total polyphenol content using Folin Ciocalteau Assay. It was found out that 12 hours of soaking time was the best extraction time for the Ehretia microphylla lam. (Tsaang Gubat) leaves. The antioxidant from the Ehretia microphylla Lam (Tsaang Gubat) leaves was loaded to the Jatropha curcas L. methyl ester at varying concentrations. It was found out that at a concentration of 11,362ppm, the oil stability index will reached the minimum six hour standard set by EN 14214. It was compared to the commercial antioxidant Baynox Plus and it was found that the commercial antioxidant passed the standard at 1667ppm.
