Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the efficacy of an insecticide composed of azamethiphos, and muscamone in controlling house fly. There were two groups with seven treatments each and three replicates per treatment. Scatter-bait includes: sugar (control), dry azamethiphos, wet azamethiphos, dry dinotefuran, wet dinotefuran, dry thiamethoxam, and wet thiamethoxam. For the paint-on group, treatments were dissolved in 20 ml water: 20 grams sugar (control), 10 grams azamethiphos, 20 grams azamethiphos, 10 grams dinotefuran, 20 grams dinotefuran, 10 grams thiamethoxam, and 20 grams thiamethoxam. After 15, 30, 60, 120, and 180 minutes, dead houseflies were manually counted and the sex of each fly was determined. Moisture, concentration, and contact time influenced the efficacy of insecticides. The pheromone component of the insecticides affected their attractiveness.
