Abstract

The major plant practice was conducted at Batangas Dairy and Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BADACO) plant, Barangay San Pio Quinto, Malvar, Batangas from June 22 to July 25, 2015. The cooperative has been well established in the dairy business and is affiliated with and a member of CoopBank of Batangas, Crop Union of Batangas, Fed-eration of Batangas Cooperatives, Batangas CCI, Lipa City Cooperative Council, Batan-gas Provincial Cooperative Development Office, and Dairy Confederation of the Philip-pines. The plant processes a maximum of 2000 liters of milk per day. After receiving the raw milk, it is then subjected to quality assessment, which determines if it is accepted to be processed into liquid milk products like wholemilk, low-fat milk, non-fat milk, choco milk, and yoghurt. BADACO market its product to regular and institutional customers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces which put orders on a daily basis. The institutional buyers include Rustan?s Supermarket, Costa Coffee Shop, Bar Dolci, Purple Yam, Far-macy, and Wild Flour Café. Before marketing, the processed products are subjected to quality control measures by conducting different tests such as organoleptic test, physico-chemical and microbiological tests. The theoretical knowledge learned by the student was applied during the plant practice. The observed problems were addressed in order to fur-ther improve the plant?s operation.
