Abstract

The student did 200 hours of major practice at BASF- Agricultural Research Station as a requirement for Major Practice. The student was scheduled everyday depending on the insecticidal research team's activities to observe and take note of farmer's practice done during field trials. The student was taught basic techniques in assessing pest population in field conditions by letting the student assist and have a first-hand experience on how to assess the pest population. He was also taught basic farmer's techniques that can only be mastered by experience. The student also grasped and experienced what a professional working environment looks like and feels like.
