Abstract

The practicum was conducted at the Research and Development Department of W Hydrocolloids, Inc located at 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The principles in Food Science, specifically Food Chemistry, were applied to various processes conducted in the laboratory. The trainee performed product duplication, product preparation and quality control analysis, and verification of weight measuring devices. Through these activities, the trainee was able to improve her time management, increase her self confidence in conducting laboratory experiments alone, and has gained a deeper knowledge regarding carrageenan and its various applications. Overall, the objectives of the study were met and the required output was accomplished.
