Abstract
Most UPLB buildings were erected before the implementation of the Fire Code of the Philippines in 2008. These buildings have manual fire suppression system which does not generally meet the standards of the code. This study focuses on the design of Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) to increase the life safety in these buildings. All components of the AFSS which are the automatic sprinklers, piping distribution system, water supply tank and water pump are designed based on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The design.
