Abstract

This study developed a fuzzy logic controller for the automation of the temperature and relative humidity was measured using the DHT22 temperature and relative humidity sensor. A fuzzy logic controller was then designed and implemented through the use of a Gizduino V ATmega 328 microcontroller. The controller categorizes each input into specific membership functions and bases the state of the output devices on the combination of membership functions and bases the state of the output devices on the combination of membership functions of the input parameters. The incubator was then tested under three conditions namely: 1) with Incandescent Bulb and Fan only, (2) with Water Heater and Fan only, and (3) Overall Testing. The first and second test showed the dependency of relative humidity to temperature. The overall testing, on the other hand, showed that the temperature of the system has a settling time of 7 minutes and 44 seconds. The relative humidity reached the acceptable range of 55% to 60% at 2 minutes and 30 seconds and rippled through the acceptable range. It took the controller 1 minute for the relative humidity to return to the acceptable range.
