Abstract

The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has significantly high level of stock outs of project materials. The Project Administration DEpartment of the Network Services and Project Management (NSPM) Center has no standard reordering policy in their inventory which resulted to increase in stock outs. This study focused on analyzing the four groups of project materials which constitutes to 99.4% of stock outs incurred from the year 2009-2012. The materials were represented by twelve key project materials. These items were then analyzed. The problem was addressed through implementing Fixed Period-Varying Order Quantity Model and application of different forecasting techniques for each material. The solutions generated savings of Php 6,385,375.4 for a year and reduction of 135,914 units or 54.27% of stock outs of project materials.
