Abstract

The study examined the university-industry collaboration of the College of Agriculture and College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology, University of the Philippines Los Baños. The data used in the study were gathered through interviews and survey. Results of the study showed various types of university-industry collaboration present in the two Colleges. Factors allowing collaboration were also identified as well as the constraints that hamper collaborations. Factors that allow collaboration include strengths of the University, available facilities, and strength of the faculty and staff. The study also presented the benefits and drawbacks of engaging in university-industry collaborations. Some of the benefits are the working experience for the students and learning experience for the faculty. The drawbacks in engaging in collaboration include the dilution of the faculty’s teaching duties.
