Abstract

The student conducted his practicum at Dodram Farm in Barangay Maalas-as Rosario, Batangas on July 19, 2015 to August 9, 2015. the objective of his major farm practice is to: gain experience on the different operations and management practices employed in a commercial farm to put into practice the theories learned from the university on swine production to identify problems arising in the operation of a commercial farm and formulate possible solutions and recommendations and to develop social skills necessary in dealing with people of the swine industry. he participated and observed in all the management practices such as semen collection, evaluation and processing, heat detection, artificial insemination, pregnancy testing, litter processing, necropsy, transferring of animals, disinfection of buildings, medication and vaccination of animals and keeping daily farm inventory. Strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis was used in formulating solutions and recommendations for the farm
