Abstract

Glenbar is a promising herbicide for weed control in upland rice. Both greenhouse and field evaluations established that Glenbar is a pre-emergence grass killer. Soil moisture (applied at spraying and shortly after spraying) and soil particle size (1/24 x 2"; 1" x 1" and 2" x 2") did not affect the effectivity of Glenbar. Results from field evaluation indicate that a pre-emergence spray of 2 kg of Glen- bar per hectare followed by a post-emergence spray of 2,4-D Amine is an effective herbicide treatment.
