Abstract
Wavelet denoising method was used to enhance the image generated by DEM in order to increase the accuracy of elevation data that are remotely sensed through satellite. The wavelet denoising procedure was able to increase the correlation of the DEM's elevation data with that of elevation data were obtained on ground using traditional surveying methods, from r=0.95083 to r=0.00720. The result also showed that the enhancement has high sensitivity in relation to elevation since the study site is relatively flat and still it was able to generate small adjustments in the elevation. The high sensitivity will be beneficial for the agricultural engineer who is involved in design and operation of large scale irrigation and drainage systems.
