Abstract

College 39, an introduced variety, gave a higher yield than the standard variety , POJ 2878.

The computed yield of college 39 was 62.054 tons of cane to a hectare, whereas that of POJ 2878 was 54.490; the computed yield of sugar was 91.22 piculs to a hectare for college 39 & 84.46 for POJ 2878.

The yield of College 39 were low compared to previous studies.
