Abstract

Four rates of hog manure sludge containing 30,60,90 and 120 kg N/ha evaluated for their effectiveness as fertilizer for corn compared with the corresponding equivalents of inorganic fertilizer.

Increased nitrogen treatment from both hog manure sludge and inorganic fertilizer increased plant height, car height and grain yield but decreased silking days and lodging. No treatment effect was observed on LAI and number of harvested cars. Significantly higher grain yield was obtained in the inorganic fertilizer as compared with hog manure sludge treated plots.
