Abstract

This experiment was undertaken to evaluate some newly released okra varieties as influenced by fertilization.

Fertilization was found to be effective in increasing the seed yields of okra varieties. The fresh fruit yields in the fertilized plots were numerically higher than the yield in unfertilized plots regardless of the variety, but the differences were insignificant.

Lavelna variety yielded the most fresh fruits (15 tons/ha.) as well as seeds (867.54 kg/ha.) in fertilized plots.

Based on the results of the experiment, Lavelna variety may be recommended for wet season.
