Abstract

This study aimed at determining the impact of work improvements to the productivity of wise participants. work improvement ideas came from the Work Improvement in Small Enterprises Training Seminar. The primary concern of this inquiry is the workshop held at Sta. Cruz, Laguna. It was found out that work improvements indeed have a positive impact on production capacity, product quality, and worker absenteeism and that they benefited from the workshop. It was also established that the number of work improvements implemented is not linearly related to greater effects on the above variables thus, work improvements are exacting for each enterprise. It was likewise found out that participants firms was not bias in implementing work improvements. It was concluded that the number of work improvements implemented for each technical aspect of WISE was evenly distributed. Though Materials Storage and Handling and Premises dominated the improvements implemented, most were on equal level. Also from the same conclusion, it can be said that all the eight technical areas of WISE are applicable to Philippine enterprises. From the follow-up on the action plans of respondent firms, it was found out the most of the improvements were actually implemented. Aside from this, firms also implemented some additional improvements.
