Abstract

The yield of 20 varieties in terms of number of bolls per plant differed significantly. Highest yield of bolls per plant was obtained at the fifth week of harvest , 23 weeks after planting. There were also significant differences in the yield of lint and seeds among the varieties. Ashkarao and Kourala gave the highest yield of lint per plant.

All the varieties matured almost at the same time.
