Abstract
All the commercial and wild varieties tested were infected with mosaic after the first or second “inoculation” using fifty adults of Aphis gossypii as a standard “dose” further test for resistance of varieties with a limited number of experimental plants, and verification of the slight resistance of Laylay, a new commercial variety fron Leyte, and Giabaque, a wild variety from Samar by testing the resistance of more sample plants is recommended.
Five uncommon native edible bananas were definitely proven to be poor sources of the resistance, while Nuan lalodensis was proven to be highly resistant to mosaic.
