Abstract

Seedlings spaced wider at 3x3 and 4x4 inches in the seedflats were more vigorous and gave more early yield than the seedlings spaced 2x2 inches. In no instance did the seedlings spaced 2x2 inches yield more than those with other spacings. Early and total yield did not vary significantly with the different time of transplanting, although a tendency towards this direction existed.
