Abstract
The flowers of Garbera began to open at about 5.30 ..m and ware :tiny open at about 7:00 a.m. Anther dehiscence began at about 8:30 a.n4 and continued up to about 11330 a.m. the stigmas were most receptive on the third and fourth days after the opening of the florets, satisfactory seas sot could be obtained from pollinations done at about 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Successful pollination was indicated by the enlargement of the capitulum about 12 days, after pollination. Seeds germinated within five to nine days attar sowing. Seeds kept 11 to 13 days after maturity under ordinary conditions decreased appreciably in viability. There was a period of five month from sowing to first bloom, with one or two suckers at flowering time.
A comparative study of the 24 hybrids produced in College showed that hybrid 19 was the highest yielder. Hybrid 21 had the heaviest flower head although not the largest. Hybrid 14 had the heaviest flower, head, and stalk. Hybrid 20 had exceptionally long stalks. Hybrids 4, 6, 14, and 18 were the poorest yielders
