Abstract

Five varieties of pummelo fruits less than 2 inches in diameter were sprayed with lead arsenate at a concentration of 2 pounds per 100 gallons of water. The total soluble solids of sprayed pummelo fruits was not affected by lead arsenate spray, but the sprayed fruits tended to have lower acid content than unsprayed fruts. All sprayed pummelo fruits of the five varieties had higher ratios of soluble solids to acid than unsprayed fruits resulting in the improvement of eating quality.
