Abstract

The effects of IBA treatments on viability and growth of split para-rubber seedlings were studied.

The twin plants obtained after splitting (original and “bud shoot”) did not differ in height increment and length of taproots, but the original shoot produced more leaves and more secondary roots than the “bud shoot”.

The effects of IBA treatments were observed markedly on viability, number of leaves and length of taproots. IBA treated seedlings gave lower percentage seedling survival and fewer leaves, but favored taproot growth concentration. Rate of growth in terms of height increment and production of secondary roots was practically the same.
