Abstract
The digestion coefficient of caged grass was significantly lower for dry matter (P. .05) than that of grazed grass. No significant differences were exhibited for nitrogen-free extract, crude protein, crude fiber, and ether extract. Caged grass contained 5.39 percent digestible protein and 50.28 percent TDN. On the other hand, grazed grass had 4.96 percent digestible protein and 52.49 percent TDN. The difference between the digestible protein of the two grasses was statistically significant (P 05). However, the differences in their TDN values was not significant. A positive nitrogen balance for both grasses was obtained.
