Abstract
Small islands are experiencing underdevelopment due to their distant location, vulnerability to natural hazards, and lack of access to social services. This is the reason behind the Science & Technology Community-based for Inclusive Development (STC4iD) Project 6 which seeks to establish a sustainable and resilient agriculture, aquatic and natural resources (AANR)-based livelihood and AANR technology transfer in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) through science and technology. The project is located in Brgy. Biga, Magallanes, Sorsogon. The study, first, conducted socio-economic and biophysical profiling. Second, it determined the factors influencing the participation of local fisherfolks in the livelihood project. Third, it determined the project outcomes and impacts. Fourth, the study identified the enabling and hindering factors that affected the livelihood project. Lastly, recommendations were made to key stakeholders. The research used qualitative research design utilizing survey and key informant interviews. The findings from this study can contribute in enhancing the understanding of the impacts of STC4iD Project 6, serving as reference and guide in sustaining and expanding livelihood opportunities in small island communities.
