Abstract

Tomato and cabbage are the two most widely consumed vegetables in the country. One some occasions, however, the supply of these vegetables runs low. This supply fluctuation may be attributed to excessive rainfall during certain season of the year which is unfavorable to the growth of these vegetables. The adverse effects of climate can be minimized by means of plastic protective coverings. This study attempted to evaluate the usefulness of plastic protective covering in enhancing the growth vigor and yield of tomato and cabbage during the rainy season. No study on the effect of plastic covering on plant growth and yield has been conducted locally.
