Abstract

Pacol, Butuhan, and saba were studied cytologically at male gametogenesis. Pacol was found to have all pairs of chromosomes (n=11) and to be completely normal meiotically. It is seeded and has well-filled and regular pollen grains. Butuhan had 11 pairs of chromosomes (n=11). Its cytological behavior is similar to pacol in all respect. Saba is a triploid with 33 chromosomes and is seedless. Irregularities at metaphase I and anaphase I included bridges, fragments, and laggards.
