Abstract

For both experienced conducted, the coefficient of variability decreased as plot size was increased. The present date indicated that plot size of 8 square meters is adequate for field tests involving bush sitao.

In experiment I no significant difference were observed between coefficients of variation of plots oriented along and across the field. However, in Experiment II most plots arranged along the length of the field gave higher coefficients of variation than plots oriented across the field.

In experiments I and II, several plot sizes gave higher comparative land efficiency than the unit plot which assumed 100 CLE value.

Plots as small as 8 square meters were already considered economical. Plots bigger or smaller than 8 square meters gave relatively higher experiment costs.
