Abstract
The effect of row spacing, nitrogen rate and population density on the grain yield, head number and days to half-bloom of ratoon crop of sorghum (Darso variety) from a wet season seed crop was observed.
Higher bitrogen rates (100- and 150-kilograms per hectare) hastened days to half-bloom, increased head number and grain yield as compared to the lower rate (50 kilograms). Population density did not significantly affect blooming but tended to increase head number and grain yield with increasing density. Closer row spacing (30-centimeter) increased yield by 44% to 49% more than the wider row spacings (50 and 75-centimeter).
