Abstract

Physical treatment like seed coat wounding and high temperature affected the germination of P. oleracea. The seed of the weed needs light to alter the structure of the seed coat and trigger germination, The seed coat of the weed is the cause of dormancy acids from the immaturity of the weed embryo.

Growth regulators (GA and KNO3) had minimal effects in terms of germination of its seeds. High concentrations of KNO3 inhibited root elongation at low concentration, it induced root elongation. GA3 increased shoot and root length at low concentration.
