Abstract

Broadcasting seedlings (broadling), from a wetbed raised rice seedlings produced statistically lower grain yield than the ordinary method of transplanting.

The treatments imposed affected significantly the mean length of panicle, the total counts of tillers per 900 sq. and the ratio of grain to straw production but did not affect the plant height at maturity, the percentage of productive tillers per 900 sq. cm. and unfilled grains and the ratio of unfilled grains to filled grain production.

Tjers mas, a high tillering variety, produced significantly higher percentage of productive tillers per 900 sq. cm., longer length of panicle and shorter by 18.3 cm. than AC 440 Dr. 260.
