Abstract
Coffee seeds stored in airtight containers with charcoal in darkness at room temperature (26-290C.) gave the highest percentage of germination. There seemed to be no difference in retention of viability between the three species of coffee studied. The critical factor in storage of coffee seeds to be moisture. Seeds with moisture content lower than 26 per cent had very low germinating power.
