Abstract

The study is an implementation of multicriteria analysis in the evaluation of seven food services around UPLB campus based on a set of criteria. The food services evaluated are SU Food Service, College Coop, Mother's Best (Ilag's), Campus Inn, Mother's Best (Grove), Lutong Bahay and Ellen's Fried Chicken (Grove). The criteria are categorized into five major groups namely: cost, space, food quality, facilities, safety/security. Based on the survey, the preferred alternatives are SU Food Service, followed by Mother's Best (Grove), College Coop, Mother's Best (Ilag's) and Lutong Bahay.

Based on the results, College Coop has the cheapest cost of food, has the largest place and has the most preferred drinks among the other alternatives. Mother's Best (Ilag's) has the best food presentation, most preferred taste of ordinary dishes and the most preferred table wares. Ellen's Fried Chicken has the most preferred taste of specialty while Mother’s Best (Grove has the best chairs and tables. SU Food gives the best lighting system as well as the safe place among the other. Finally, Campus Inn has best sound system and has the most preferred type of ventilation.

The findings of the study can be used as a guide by the students in selecting a place to eat in the vicinity of the campus.
