Abstract
In this study, the Adjusted-Average method was applied in the graduation of mortality. The 1973-1978 PIG crude rates were utilized. The basic formula in this method is Vx = ar+Ux,r. The main step was to solve the numerical multipliers ar involved in the formula. Two parameters n and z are both considered in deriving ar.
After graduation, tests for fit and smoothness were applied. Hence, the best fit and most smooth graduated values are the most acceptable. To make all computations less tedious, Turbo Pascal version 5.5 was used in coding the application of the method in ungraduated terms.
