Abstract

An increase of 10.7 cavans per hectare was obtained from Sinan Julian rice variety in Calauan with the application of 30kg. nitrogen with 45 kg. phosphorus an increase of 25.7 cavans was obtained with the application of 60 kg. nitrogen combination with 45 kg. potash. There was no response to the addition of 30 kg. nitrogen and to the application of 45 kg. phosphorus. The application of 30 kg. of nitrogen to Guinanggang in Calauan increased the yield by 15.1 cavans. There was an increase of 30.9 cavans hectare over the control with the application of 60 kg. nitrogen in combination with 45 kg. phosphorus and 45 kg potash.

A yield as high as 139.5 cavans per hectare was obtained in Barrio Masiit planted to Sinan Julian when 30 kg. nitrogen was applied. The application of 60 kg. with 45 kg. phosphorus resulted in a yield of 119.9 cavans per hectare of Tjeremas in Masiit which was 22 cavans per hectare greater than that of the control. The addition of 30 kg. nitrogen gave an increase of 8 cavans over the control.

The fertility of the Calumpang clay is not homogenous as indicated by the variation in yield and crop reaction to fertilizer treatments.
