Abstract
In this paper, the Hooks and Jeeves Algorithm for Unconstrained Optimization is studied. Optimal parameters of the algorithm namely: initial step length (H), pattern move ratio (S), and the step reduction ratio (R) were determined so that its effectiveness and efficiency is assured.
