Issue Date
2008
Abstract
Ameeria sp. is reported from the heart and footpad of a black palm cockatoo (Probosciger arterimus) imported to the Philippines probably from Indonesia. Four specimens, all females, were recovered, hence, specific identification was not possible. No gross lesions were observed associated with the nematodes. A brief description is given based on the four specimens and photomicrographs are also provided. It cannot be ascertained whether the infection was acquired in Indonesia or in the Philippines.
