Twelve new species and one new record of cheyletidae (acari) from the Philippines

Abstract

Twelve new species are described from the Philippines, namely, Allieaprasadi, Chelacheles robustus, Cheletomimus daltoniensis, Eutogenes bakeri, E. cornutus, E. makilingiensis, Hemicheyletia lanceolata, Ker mercedesae, K. pintoriensis, Neoeucheyla dua, N. maysa and Pavlovskicheyla philippicana. Hemicheyletia congoensis (Cunliffe) is also reported and the males of Acaropsella filipina Corpuz-Raros, Hemicheyletia leytensis Corpuz-Raros and Hypopicheyla mirabilis (Volgin) are described for the first time. Eucheyletia nindota Corpuz-Raros which was doubtfully combined with this genus in original description, is redescribed and transferred to Columbicheyla Thewke and Enns. A key to the 27 genera and 49 species of cheyletids known from the Philippines is given, as well as keys to known world species of Alliea, Chelacheles, Cheletomimus, Columbicheyla, Eutogenes, Ker and Pavlovskicheyla. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
