Abstract

Eight species of flies were found associated in Volvariella volvacea (Bull, ex Fr.) Singer mushroom cultivation exhibiting the depth of dipteran diversity; three families represented the suborder Brachycera. Five flies were identified to the genes level belonging to different families; Mycophila (Cecidomyiidae), Pipunchulus (Pipunculidae), Porcenus (Heleomyzidae), Leptocera (Sphaeroceridae), and Desmometopa (Milichiidae). The other three belong to families Scatopsidae, Sciaridae and Empididae. The most abundant fly was Desmometropa in both weekly and daily samplings with a duration of 8 weeks and 25 days, respectively.
